The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Well that sucks...
I mean, I enjoy GR regardless of B10AF/UA... I just chop away the association between the two shows like a mold-covered corner of cheese.

Me too, and in all honesty, I believe it's pretty sad he let those two pieces of crap get in the way of enjoying a good show.

I say Circe because she's had the fewest appearances of those three.

Wow, that's exactly how I've been feeling about Alien Force and the series as a whole, right down to the point of being unable to watc Generator Rex. CR, sometimes it's scary how similiar we are at times.

Wow, you sum up the spin-offs better than I ever could! Great review, CR.

I'm shocked and really confused by the rules of that game. Did no one play test it or proof read the rules to see if it would actually work? It seems like something they should have caught on immediately.

It's cool you thought 'Ben 10 Alien Force' blew chunks like I did! For me one of the biggest problems that you did not mention to Kevin, I LOVED Kevin in 'Ben 10' he was, for a US kids show, a very surprising villain in terms of pushing the envelope to show you something that you'd not seen before. Here was a kid who was a genuine sociopath, not only that, but they had the courage to NOT go down the typical route you expected them to go with a kid villain in terms of having him turn good with the 'power of love and friendship,' nope, as the show went on he just got more and more deranged and twisted.

Then came 'Ben 10 Alien Force' and almost right away they utterly destroyed the character by having him reform, now don't get me wrong I was not opposed 'in principle' to the idea of Kevin reforming, but it would have to be handled well over a long and protracted period, showing the character we knew from 'Ben 10' slowly evolve into this new one, with genuine motivations on his part, what we got was a bloody white wash!
